CLAUDIO TADDEI was born in Minas (Uruguay) in 1966 and spent his first three years in Montevideo. In 1969, the family emigrated to Switzerland, his father's home. Taddei began his studies in Lugano; in 1981 the family returned to Montevideo, where Taddei took his degree in arts.
In 1984 he won his first award as a soloist at the “Festival de La Paz”, Uruguay.
From 1986 until 1990 he attended the “Fine Arts School" at Montevideo and worked as a drawing and painting teacher.
From 1986 Taddei's artistical activities oscillate between painting and music.
He recorded 8 CD's in cooperation with Emi and Universal. It is due to his talent and his success that he worked with several other famous musicians; he also worked as producer and art director for bands like Vela Puerca. ("Deskarado”, 2000) and Rossana Taddei ("De Minas a Paris", 1992, "Alas de Mariposa", 2001).

In 1988 he started working for his CD “La Ultima Tentaciòn de Caperucita Roja” which was published two years later and sold out within a short time.

The videoclip of “Estoy Contento Nena”, produced in collaboration with the excellent director Leonardo Ricagni and in participation with Ruben Rada, did not only support the sale of his record “La Iguana en el Jardin” (EMI) but let them win several awards in their category. Further videoclips followed:

·     “Cebras, Nàcar y Rubi” (EMI) with the song “Noche de Sal” directed by Cacho Bagnasco

·     “Dormite Tranquilo” directed by Paulina Portela

·     “No se si Salgo hoy” directed by Diego Fernandez part of the record “Espantapàjaros” (Obligado Rds)

·     The CD “PSNL” directed again by Leonardo Ricagni

·     Last but not least the clip of the backstage of “Puerto Mestizo” by Stefano Ferrari.

The record “Para el Sur el Norte Esta Lejos (PSNL)” was made in collaboration with the Argentinean art producer Carlos Villavicencio, in cooperation with artists like Fito Páez, Luis A. Spinetta, Ketama, Charly Garcia, etc.

By the end of the year 2002, when finishing the CD “Para el Sur el Norte Esta Lejos (PSNL)”, Taddei learns that he has serious health problems. For that reason he and his family came back to Switzerland and he had to stop working for several months.

During the period of convalescence (2003/2004) the “Radio della Svizzera italiana (Swiss Television)” produced the biographical documentary “Quando le canzoni si avverano”, directed by Stefano Ferrari.
